So, today my three year old took her first step toward adulthood. She graduated from her first year of preschool, ok so she has another year of preschool and then thirteen years of school. Today was pretty cool though. Her teachers put on a pretty snazzy graduation ceremony at a local park. Cap, gown and all. Susan had no interest in wearing her cap. That could be my fault since I've trained her not to mess up her hair. Anyway, no cap aside it was pretty darn cute. Eight little three years olds wiggling and riggling in their little multicolored chairs in front of adoring parents and grandparents. All graduates were presented with little diplomas as well as Clifford books and bubbles. Customary cookies and milk followed the ceremonies. All of the little girls in their pretty little dresses and boys in their fancy little outfits took off for the playground as soon as they were finished humoring the adults. All and all it was a pretty special occasion, one that I will never get to see again because my camcorder(which I charged all night) died. My husband who is a very good amateur photographer logged every second of the celebration with our digital camera. Speaking of digital cameras, how did our parents live without them? It will be my fun task to download the pictures to my computer and delete all the ones where Susan is squinting or showing her little underwear because she's sitting like a frog on a lilypad! After graduation daddy took us to McDonalds to further the joy and glee of Susan's day. I think every other parent in my city had the same thought, the playland was filled to capacity reaching noise levels that only Chuck Yeager is accustomed to. Anyway, it was a pretty good day for a sweet little three year old who wondered what all the pomp and circumstance was all about!
