We're back!

To all of those who missed me I am back home! We left for Coeur d'Alene Idaho on monday morning and arrived back tonight. It was a lot of fun, but I cannot express how excited I am to have my girls sleep in their own rooms. For five nights Kerry and I were kicked, elbowed and awoken by two little girls. We had a great time though, we broke up the drive by sleeping in Butte Montana on the way there and back. We thought eleven hours of driving would stretch the girls patience to the limit. They were so great I am so excited to announce, I was really worried about driving that long with them. I'm going to go off on a tangent now. I am tired of calling my girls by fake names so I am going to call them my their nicknames. Anyway, Nanny and Dant were really great in the van. Dant slept a lot and Nanny did a lot of coloring and movie watching. Kerry and I had bought the new Harry Potter book on CD and were able to listen to the whole thing on our drive. The book was 21 hours long and was almost the perfect length for our drive. Wow, what a great book!! We're really sad the story has ended though. I am going to give full details of our vacation but right now I am pretty tired and really dizzy (we spent some time on a boat and I definitely haven't got my land legs back). I am glad to say that I am all unpacked and my laundry is partly done, I will sleep like a baby tonight. Actually, babies don't sleep that well. Believe me, I know!

Greetings from Butte

It's so nice that Hotels have computers for you to use. We are staying in Butte Montana tonight, ready to head for home in the morning. We have had a great time on our vacation but are ready for the comforts only home can offer. The girls are ready for some routine back in their lives I think. We had a fun night tonight swimming at the local YMCA, they have an aquatic center in it. They were so nice there, they let us in free on monday because the pool in our hotel was being filled. We came back tonight with full intentions of paying and they remembered us from monday and insisted that we swim free again. The girls had a ball, they had fun waterslides for old and young. Kerry had a good time going down the big waterslide over and over. I liked the hot tub much to the girls displeasure, they couldn't come in. Monday night when we were there I slipped on the cement and got some nasty bruises on my body. It was a pretty hard fall. We got pizza from the same restaurant both nights and had fun eating on our beds. Susan thought that was the bomb!

My blood test

I have been telling several people about this interesting appointment I had scheduled with a pharmacognacist( I think that's right). I went wednesday and it was pretty darn fascinating. The doctor took one tiny drop of my blood and put it under a microscope and we looked at it on a TV. He could analyze my nutritional deficiencies by looking at my blood cells. I could see them too. Your blood cells are all supposed to be round and free flowing, but mine weren't. Turns out I am not absorbing iron or vitamin B12 very well which could account for my fatigue. I was also a little low on estrogen and had some yeast and fungus and also had sugar crystals in my blood. I could actually see them, it was so interesting. He recommended I take some supplements that are supposed to assimilate better than any vitamin you can buy, he also recommended I eat more estrogen based foods such as strawberries, raspberries, yams, sweet potatoes and soy. It was just the most interesting thing to watch my blood cells moving around on the TV, I could see all the cells that weren't right. I would recommend it to anybody having a health problem. He is way down in Sandy, but that's no big deal. After my appointment I took Jordyn and Colton home. We had picked them up on sunday night because we scored some really good Lagoon tickets for $8.00. We went to Lagoon on monday and everybody had a good time. Adrian had fun on the merry go round. Tuesday night we took the kids to Fat Cats and played glow in the dark miniature golf and some arcade games, that was a lot of fun. Susan loved having her cousins sleep at our house for three nights. Tonight my cousin Sherri came over with her two youngest girls Gwynn and Elyse. We went to the river walkway right by my house and let Gwynn and Susan play in the river, they have a spot that is damned off and calm. The girls had a ball getting dirty! We saw a huge beaver chewing a branch off the banks and hauling it into the river, that was way cool! A golden retriever jumped into the river and played fetch with his master, that was very entertaining and really fun to watch. It's the coolest thing that I can walk two minutes east of my house and be right by the weber river and feel like I'm up in the mountains. It was a fun night and a fun week.

a visit with the bishop!

By the name of my blog you probably think I was in trouble or something.
Fortunately, I wasn't. We went down to Tooele last sunday to watch Ed become the new bishop of the Tooele 1st ward. I'm pretty proud to be the sister of a bishop. I wish I could see my mom up in heaven bragging to all of her angel friends about her son in law the bishop! I'm positive she is just as proud as can be. It was fun to see Joey and her family, it had been three months. Susan asks all of the time why we can't see them, she hasn't quite grasped the whole distance thing yet. It was pretty darn fun for her to hang with her cousins and aunt and uncle all day long. She's pretty crazy about them. I just spent time hanging out with some other people that are pretty darn fun. Pam hosted a little gathering in her beautiful back yard with me, Joan, Peggy and herself. We had veggie shishkabobs and fruit shishkabobs followed by a decadent french silk pie. There was the usual talking and laughter that always accompanies our get togethers. Joan cracked us up with her cute innocence and Peggy was pretty darn funny missing every other word that was said (she forgot to wear her hearing aid). We had fun sharing memories about mom. We recollected that two years ago the last thing mom did before she died was come to a gathering in Pam's back yard. Boy, we miss her! She's always there in spirit though. We played a fun game with dominoes called mexican train. That was pretty funny, it was getting dark and the "older ladies" (I'm gonna hear about that from Pam and Peggy) couldn't see the colors on the dominoes so they kept laying the wrong ones down. I kept telling them to count the dots instead of look at the colors. Joan was insistent that she could lay them down if the colors resembled each other! It was a fun night away from my kids, it's always nice to be Heather once in a while. Mommy is the greatest word in the whole world but sometimes it's just nice to be called by your first name. Thank heavens I have these fun friends I can be myself around!

Happy Birthday America!

What a cool time of year this is. I love it, you feel so united with everybody. Even though most Americans don't even know why we celebrate Independence Day ( I know this from watching Jaywalking on Jay Leno) I love it. The morning of the 4th we woke up bright and early at 8:20 and headed for the park for a pancake breakfast. That was pretty fun, Adrian wouldn't touch the pancakes. She is used to the whole wheat pancakes daddy makes almost every morning. What 17 month old discriminates between white and wheat pancakes! After the breakfast me, daddy and our two little girls dressed in their matching patriotic outfits walked up the hill to the parade route. We found a good spot near the end of the parade in front of Porter's house. It took a minute for Susan to figure out why people were throwing candy at us and that she should run out into the street to pick it up. This was the first time in her life Kerry and I both urged her to run into the street! We got quite the haul of sweets. After the parade we walked to the carnival and saw lots of neighbors and friends. Kerry left to go help Ken run a booth at Cherry Days, I stayed with the girls and let Susan ride the train and play some games. That dreaded time finally came, the time when we had to go home so Adrian could have a nap, Susan hates that time. When daddy got home and Sissy woke up we headed to aunt Melodys for a day of swimming and fun. Aunt Melody's back yard is like Disneyland, never a dull moment! We had a good time seeing people we hadn't seen for a while, like Joseph. We stayed until dark then headed home to get baby in bed. After we put Adrian in bed we headed outside to watch fireworks with the Simones. They live across the street from us and had invited us to dinner and firework fun. We missed out on dinner but thought we would light fireworks with them. This worked out pretty well because we could check on Adrian every few minutes. It was a fun fulfilling day and once again I'm grateful for good neighbors and loving family!

My week

I just got to thinking, my titles are pretty boring aren't they! I was trying to think of what to write about and I just kept thinking I'll talk about my week like I always do. Nothing momentous or eventful happened this week (thank heavens) so I had no clever title. This was one of those pretty laid back weeks, which I really like. I'm just gonna give a play by play of the days I remember! Monday I was craving sloppy Joes and corn on the cob so I went and bought some ground beef and buns then dragged the kids around town in search of corn (Smiths didn't have one single ear of it). I finally ended up at Carlos Produce, I figured I was pretty safe there! Susan was pretty tired of shopping and I had a feeling she wasn't feeling well. I was right. Tuesday Susan laid around the house most of the day, that's not normal. She had a few friends come over later in the afternoon wanting to swim with her in the backyard. They swam for a minute and then we had tacos, for the first time ever Susan had three friends over for dinner. Boy, was that tiring! Every time I would try to take a bite somebody would tell me they needed more taco or more milk or a napkin or something. I have to say that Kerry is pretty fun with Susan and her friends, he instigated the whole friends eating over thing and was even willing to sacrifice his tacos so that the friends had enough. He's going to be that fun dad that offers to go buy ice cream and chips at 1:00 a.m. when the girls are having sleep overs. I like that! Kerry wants me to change his name to Grant on my blog, you know like Cary Grant. I told him I'd think about it! Grant, or Kerry whatever you want to call him went to a raptors game that night and I stayed home and entertained all the little neighborhood girls. Wednesday Susan was obviously sick so I had to turn away all the little friends that came knocking on our door looking for a play date. Tears were shed, hearts were broken but what was I supposed to do? That night I made my weekly escape and went to Young Womens. Thank heaven for Young Womens, it is so fun for me to get out of the house and do fun activities with these fun girls and leaders. One of the leaders had just bought Bridge to Terabithia and told me I had to take it home and watch it. Boy, did that turn out to be a heaven send. Thursday I finally took Susan to the doctor because she was burning up with a fever, she had an ear infection and maybe strep throat. She was pretty sick, poor little thing. One benefit was that she took naps all week long! When she wasn't sleeping she was watching Bridge to Terabithia over and over. Friday she was still pretty sick but on the mend. By saturday she was quite a bit better, yay! We went to an Elders Quorum(how do you spell that) party at the bishop's house at 5:30 then we took the kids to Lisa's house and she watched them along with Sherri's kids. She's a good Lisa, she called me on thursday night and said bring your kids over saturday and I'll watch them. We jumped all over that! Kerry and I went to the new Megaplex in Ogden and saw Die Hard 4. Today is sunday and we did the usual, went to church then went to a birthday party for Kerry's nephew Kaden. This week has almost officially come to an end, well right after I put Susan to bed that is!
